Unlike many hackers Adam’s journey into cybersecurity did not begin with BBC micro's or coding in childhood. It started in 2014, fueled by a curiosity for technology, making things work and sometimes breaking them in the process. Over a decade of delivering conventional penetration tests for various consultancies opened his eyes to an uncomfortable realisation: traditional methods often provide a false sense of security by ignoring large swaths of the attack surface. Having resolved to address this, he founded Trethtec in 2021 and developed CounterSOC, a continuous, consultancy-driven penetration testing service that empowers clients to truly understand and secure their organisations. A self-taught hacker who loves both building and breaking, Adam holds respected credentials such as OSCP and Crest CRT, and believes that honest conversations lead to better scopes, tests, and outcomes. When he’s not reimagining the world of cybersecurity, you can find him enjoying the rugged landscapes of North Wales, whether kitesurfing, climbing, sailing, or simply soaking in the outdoors.

With over 3 decades in IT and cyber security, he has advised businesses across all sectors. He is passionate about working with clients who will benefit from TrethTec’s unique offering in the cyber security space. Outside work, you’ll find him playing guitar with his band, watching tv, gaming and exploring emerging tech trends.
